Music as Ministry

Singing the Faith Alive

The Parish Choir of the Mar Thoma Church of New Jersey serves as a vital part of our worship, leading the congregation in praise during the Holy Qurbana and special services. Our choral tradition draws from the rich heritage of West Syriac liturgical music, Malayali Christian hymns, and contemporary praise.

Under the dedicated direction of Mrs. Susan Alexander (Malayalam) and Mr. Thomas Jacob (English), the choir brings a blend of reverence and vitality to every service. All voices are welcome — what matters most is a heart devoted to worship.

    Weekly Rehearsals

    Every Sunday at 8:45 AM & 2:00 PM at the parish church. New members always welcome.

  • 02

    Service Rotation

    English choir leads the 1st & 4th Sunday service (11:30 AM); Malayalam choir leads the 2nd & 3rd Sunday service (9:30 AM).

  • 03

    Special Services

    Christmas, Easter, Feast of St. Thomas, and other major celebrations feature special choral works.
